The World Is Amazing And Nobody Is Happy

I stole this from Melinda, who stole it from someone else. It made me laugh and is so true!

Now Can We Be Friends?

I received this today:

It was from my doctor's office to "hope (I) was feeling better and "thanks" for me letting them torture me last week. I guess we have "kissed and made up"? This kind gesture is just one more reason why I just love my doctor!

"Flower" Bouquet

One of the girls in a family that Jim home teaches had a birthday today. She was at my cookie decorating class for the Activity Days Girls and asked how much I would charge for a cake. I told her that I already had something in mind and this was the final result:

The grass was even edible and there were Whoppers in the pot as well that served as "dirt". Jim put it all together and frosted the cookies, since I had to go to the temple with the Young Women to do Baptisms for the Dead. It's not a cake, but I still think it turned out pretty cute. She was pretty happy when we dropped off tonight and while we were talking her youngest brother immediately stole a Whopper.

Bestest Present Ever!

Today is Jim and I's 2nd Anniversary, and we were able to give each other the best gift ever! We paid off a major bill today and figured that we can have another major bill paid off by May! There is nothing sweeter than seeing a $0 balance. I am so grateful and thankful, since there have been days that I wondered if I ever would see such a number.

BTW . . . For dinner we had our own little luau. I figured since we couldn't go to Hawaii, I would try to bring Hawaii to us. It was hillarious to be eating kalua pork and rice while watching the snow and wind. (NOT) Oh well. It turned out fabulous and was so easy it was amazing. I was even able to find and buy an ice shaver, so that we could have Hawaiian shaved ice for dessert. (Jim has been wanting one for a year.) Maybe next year we can go back and experience the real thing again. One can only hope!

I'm Grateful!

I am grateful for all of the roads being almost completely dry. Now I don't care about cold, snow, or grey clouds. I get to run my errands and not have to attempt to do an ice skating routine going to and from the car. Life is good!

Yeah! It's Over!

Yeah, the HSG test is over! All I will say is that I am glad it is over and NEVER will have to do that again. Definitely not my idea of a good time and think it is a ridiculous amount of money for 15 minutes. I am not feeling the greatest, but that was to be expected. I am just glad I took someone else's advice and took some Aleve prior to going.

The results showed no firm blockage, but a little that appeared to correct itself thanks to the contrast material. Consequently, Jim and I now have a lot of decisions to make in the next month or so. Stay tuned. . . . . . . .

Pay It Forward - Free Gift!

Pay It Forward Exchange is based on the concept of the movie "Pay it forward". I will send a hand made gift to the first three people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join the PIF exchange. All the gifts will be made and posted out 'sometime within the next year'. How exciting to not know when your surprise package will arrive! What you need to do in return, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog. This Exchange is only open to those with active websites, Facebook accounts, or blogs. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PROMISE TO POST THIS SAME 'PAY IT FORWARD' MESSAGE ONTO YOUR BLOG, WEBSITE, or FACEBOOK ACCOUNT WHICH MUST BE ACTIVE IN ORDER TO PLAY. YOU WILL PAY IT FORWARD TO THREE PEOPLE WHO COMMENT ON YOUR PAGE. I'd love for you to join me! Will you? Other comments are welcome, but only the first three will be my Pay It Forward recipients. Come and join me who doesn't love a gift or giving gifts???

New Drugs Are Yuck!

Okay, so I started my new fertility drug, Femara. It's interesting, since this drug was initially introduced to treat breast cancer. All I know is that the side effects have not been my idea of a good time. Between the hot flashes, the flu-like symptoms, and nausea I am looking forward to Monday since I will have quit taken them by then.

I miss the Clomid, since it didn't have the side effects initially. Unfortunately it did make me extremely moody 2 weeks after taking it.

I will be glad to know this coming Wednesday if these drugs are even viable. I am getting really tired of being a guinea pig. I am rapidly getting to the point of wondering if this is all worth it.

Be Careful What You Wish For

Well, wish me luck! I just received my contracts to teach 2 classes starting on Monday, which means I could have potentially 40 students for the next 9 weeks. YIKES! Luckily, Jim also just received work for an extra contract and working 60 hours a week so we will be able to stay out of each other's hair while working at home. So we will both be busy for awhile!

To keep our sanity we have to keep thinking . . . . that much closer to being debt free!

Creative Brain Block!

Okay, I am totally having creative brain block. I volunteered to make a cake for our Relief Society birthday bash and have no idea what to do. The theme is "Sisters of Light". (Like that is helpful.) So I am trying to decide to go with the theme or just do a generic one with some type of tie into RS in general. Any suggestions?

Arrogance, Stupidity, Or Both?

Is it arrogance, stupidity, or both that these and two others are "surprised" they were found out to not have paid taxes? Seriously, did the just conveniently "forget" that there is an extensive background search for cabinet nominees and all skeletons are found? How can you seriously think you are going to hide over $100,000 in unpaid taxes?
I think the thing that sickens me the most is that if these guys were Joe Q. Public, they would be facing criminal charges and federal prison for such negligence. Also, the fact that they are leaders is even more aggravating. What happened to the old adage of "lead by example"? Or maybe they have, which gives some explanation to the state of today's economy.

Hello, Mr. President

Jim was sustained as the new Sunday School President and myself as the new YW Secretary. Without giving a lot of detail, let's just say we have our work cut out for us.

Life is always full of suprises.
