There is a line from a song in the show "Funny Girl" that goes, "Oh, what a day I had today." I think I would say the same, only change the word day to week! Between my uncle unexpectedly passing away, my mother-in-law having a seizure, going to Salt Lake - then canceling last minute, drama with my step-daughter, me having some complications from fertility treatments, and our son having to be rushed to urgent care and finding out he had RSV only 6 hours after we saw his pediatrician and was told he was fine, I am ready for the weekend to come!
Not to mention the fact that Saturday is my husband's and my wedding anniversary. The kalua pork is already starting to slowly cook for the big feast and the other yummy goodness that we will be having to honor our Hawaiian wedding have been bought. It's kind of a bummer we don't get to go out, but I'm just grateful that we are all home, we are safe, and are truly blessed to have each other.
I am so grateful to have such a supportive husband who truly does care for me. It's so nice to be able to say that. I have so many friends and family members who are not so lucky. While we are not perfect, I will say that I have no doubt that he is fiercely loyal and supportive of me. It is such nice, safe thing to say. I never had that before in any of my relationships, but it is what I and every person deserves.
Not to mention what a great dad he is. With Little Man being so sick, you would think he would be Mommy's new appendage. However, he wanted Daddy just as much. In fact if either of us left the room for longer then a few minutes, he would get extremely upset. I am glad that he loves his daddy so much. After the nonsense he has had to deal with my step-daughter, especially the last five years, he has needed this and has deserved it.
Well, off to wrap presents. He already figured out one since he answered the door when the package was delivered. (It's our 4th anniversary and the traditional gift is fruit or flowers. I got him pineapple from the Dole plantation in Hawaii.). Hopefully the others will be more of a surprise.
Aloha!
