So away we went, even if it was only for 34 hours. It was just nice to get the heck out of here and get him away from computers, Blackberries, the beastly yard, and personal cell phone! We decided to head up to Montana to visit my brother and his family, who graciously hosted us for a couple of days.
This family is BIG into planes, so I brought some gummy planes I found! They were a hit with the boys and they, of course, had to tell me about each one and what they each do (especially the 5 year old). Boy, do they know their stuff and are such smarties!
Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures the first day. I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe I was too intoxicated with the smells of dutch oven cooking. Yum! Yum! Yum! Hopefully, when we get this silly back yard fixed we can return the favor.
While dinner was cooking, two of my nephews wanted to go on a 4-wheeler ride but their parents were occupied with making dinner. I told them I would go even though I had never driven one before, but what the heck! I was on vacation! (Although, I do remember a side comment about needing my life insurance increased.) Thankfully, the one I rode had no gears so pretty much a no brainer. So the middle one rode one by himself and I had the youngest with me.
We rode over to the local rodeo grounds and rode up and down some small hills. However, the one with me wanted to go over a larger dirt hill that there was no way I was going over. He tried to convince me by stating, "My dad would go over that one."
To which I replied, "Your dad is a stud."
He responded without even a hesitation, "My dad isn't a stud. He's a pilot!" How true! The honesty of little ones. Gotta love it!
We then rode back to the house and had dinner. Upon completion, my brother offered to take us for a plane ride to which I agreed. However, inside I was freaking out! I hate flying! But I figured, I am on vacation. Let's do it!
I have to admit that when we got into the plane and I noticed, as I was buckling up, the crazy amount of duck tape that seemed to be holding it together, I couldn't help to be a little nervous and started to wonder if this was some sort of payback for the fights we had when we were little. But I figured that he wouldn't leave my child parentless, so I should be okay. And of course we were. He is a very safe and great pilot, otherwise there is no way he would be where he is today in the flying world. It was a lovely flight and definitely put a bug in me to want to go back and explore the countryside more on foot. I had no idea of all the history involved in the area.
The second day we went to a lake with a sandy beach so the boys could play in the sand. Some people next to us even kindly let us borrow their canoe, so the boys took it out on the lake.
We then had to pack up and head back to Idaho so I could work on Young Women stuff, my husband on the yard, and I also need try to rescue our flowers from the 98 degree heat they suffered without being watered. (They all survived!)
Overall, it was just so nice to get away, give Little Man some time to see what it is like to be a "little boy" with three boys, and catch up with some family members which we never get to do often enough.
Hopefully, I can convince my husband for another trip next month before school starts again. We'll see.

Thanks for coming up, you guys. Sis, I got the huckleberry package you sent, thank you very much. Hopefully there will be some left for me to enjoy when I get back from "working".
