Am I Cool Now?

So Jim and I went and saw "Twilight" today. We were able to get a seat, because we went 45 minutes early. However, that showing did completely sell out. What was the most interesting is all of the pre-teen and teeny-boppers that were there. (We went to the 2:00 pm show.) I know that both school districts had school today, so hmmmmmmmmmm . . . .

The priorities of some are interesting. I even had one of my own students who claimed to be sick and asked to turn in her final late last night. It turns out she was going to see "Twilight" and needed to stand in line to see it. If I had done that when I was in school, I would have been grounded for life.

Education just always came first no matter what. If you "faked" bein g sick in my house, you eventually would beg to go to school because being "sick" was worse than being at school. You got to do nothing and go nowhere.

Anyway, I digress. I have to say from hearing the comments around us I am glad I haven't read the book prior to seeing the movie. I enjoyed the movie and better yet, enjoyed the company of the person I was with.

I read the books and went to the 12:30 a.m. showing. I enjoyed both!

That's good to hear! I actually plan on reading the book now that I have seen the movie. I wasn't sure if I would read it before.

I read the books, but I have no desire to see the movie, it doesn't look like it will live up to the books! I will soon find out, because my friend had a fondue movie night and a bunch of friends went, so I'll hear all about it.

As the one that ran through a barb-wire fence and ended up leaving the emergency room with 83 stitches in my throat...and STILL went to school the very next day, I can vouch for what she's saying about the priority of going to school in our house. Borderline ridiculous!
