The Psycho Weeds
3 days ago my husband sprayed the strongest type of Round Up he could find to kill the backyard, so that we can start over. As you can see, our weeds/wannabe grass thinks that it is fertilizer and WON'T die! He sprayed it again today, so we will see what happens. All of that long grass to the left of the black divider is ALL quack grass.
(By the way, the thing that looks like a large snake is the ugly black plastic that used to be around our flower bed in the front yard. It's now bye-bye.)

You need to use a ground sterilent like Pramitol. Roundup is usually a broadleaf killer and won't do anything to grass. Head to CAL Ranch or the equivalent, we use it at the airport. Be warned though, you'll need to lay down new topsoil, that stuff is powerful!!
