Last night I learned how to can butter. Basically you just melt it, put it in a canning jar, place canning lids on top, shake it, put in fridge, and shake it some more. Once it hardens it can then be placed in food storage for 3-5 years. If you want detailed instructions let me know.

Seriously?? That's COOL! It doesn't get rancid or anything?
Supposedly it is supposed to last. The lady who taught us said she just used some that was 4 years old and it was fine.
