Well, we had another Dr. appointment today.
The heartbeat was good and we are definitely going to be having a C-section. We don't know when yet because she doesn't schedule them until we are closer to the due date. However, we have also had put in the chart that if I do go into early labor, we will have a C-section so the hospital knows what to do.
The final decision has been made (Enter "Death March" music here), and I start insulin shots tomorrow. I went to the diabetic clinic today and let's just say it did not go well. Tomorrow I have to go back in and I don't get to leave until I have given myself a shot. So as of tomorrow, my new address will be at the Wellness Center and I will have my mail forwarded there, since I won't be leaving there anytime soon. I did okay until it was time to jab myself, and the thoughts of it got to be too much, especially when trying for the stomach. I know that the needle isn't long enough to do any damage to the baby or placenta, but just the thoughts of all of it gives me the heeby-jeebies! Due to the start of insulin, they will now be monitoring growth at every visit starting next week and if he shows any signs of growing quickly, we will be doing an emergency C-Section.
I got the H1N1 vaccine today as well. Being in the 8th month I am high risk of pre-mature delivery if I were to get sick so I was considered a "priority" patient. Pretty impressive considering the health department is only giving them 30 doses a week. The scary thing was that while we were waiting another lady came into the waiting area that had just been confirmed to have H1N1 and was waiting for an x-ray because the doctor had heard crackling on her lungs. Soooooooooooo not good! I still can't figure out why they didn't have her quarantined somewhere and not out in an open waiting area filled with a bunch of pregnant women. Anyway, in two weeks I supposedly will be completely immune to this virus so we'll see.
We also tried to do a 4-D ultrasound, but being his father's son he was too stubborn to turn his head so we could see his face. We saw his ear only. He also moved his legs and arms but was having nothing doing with having a picture taken. (Hmmmm. . . . that sounds more like his mother.) We will try again in a couple of days and I'll be sure to eat lots of veggies just before. That always gets him going! Hopefully, we get a decent view then. Keep your fingers crossed!
