I get to use this lovely 6 times a day. That's right. I said 6. And if you know anything about me and my "love" of needles, this is not a good thing. I was also told that if my levels are not within "normal" range I also get to take insulin (yes, in shot form) above and beyond the Metformin I am already taking. I will spare you the rest of the details of the class, but let's just say it did not end well and right now me and the "mini" are having a stare down, glaring contest.
Not only do I get to do this but I have to fax my results in once a week so I can "check in" with my "parole officer" to make sure I am being a good girl.
And before any of you decide to tell me your horror stories of needles, epidurals, and delivery . . . Yes, I am fully aware of what epidurals and IVs are, and my doctor is also fully aware that as long as you don't tell me what you are doing or show me, I am just fine. Otherwise, it is "have a nice life" and I am outta there! (This is why I did not go to medical school.)
I can and have had lots of needles and such, and can do it. The anticipation is worse than the actual procedure, so I have learned my own coping mechanism. It works for me, but is not going to be case on this one.

If it makes you feel any better, I HATE poking my own finger too. Thank heavens for those little spring loaded lancets, because otherwise I am sure I couldn't do it :P. Bring on the blood and guts, just don't make me poke myself!? Good luck!
That is sooooooo nice to hear. I am the exact same way! The blood and guts do not bother me, instead I find it all so fascinating. The human body is AMAZING!
